About Polar_Gal

Who is "Polar_Gal"?

My Passion:
I'm an outgoing student and research scientist that has a HUGE passion for Polar Science! Not only that, I love sharing it with YOU!! There's so much neat science going on in our field today and I want to share the excitement with others!

I strongly believe that this upcoming generation truly needs to work to bridge the gap between science and the general public. I feel like that link is missing at the moment and that leads to confusion. I'm not sure if there are any jobs out there that are trying to fill this gap, but if I find one I really hope I can work to make a difference!

My Current Work:
I'm a Research Assistant and Graduate Student currently studying Atmospheric Science/Oceanography at the International Arctic Research Center (IARC) at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. I moved up here to Fairbanks, Alaska 2 years ago to pursue a long shot dream of living in Alaska for a while.

I love the outdoors and spend my free time going on roadtrips all over Alaska camping and fishing and enjoying the Last Frontier.

My educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Atmospheric Science with a minor in Mathematics from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks.
